So, the Portuguese gov just approved totally overhauled regulations for EV charging.
What is important for ABRP?
No longer a single network.
In Portugal, thus far, all* charging (* 99% except Tesla, Continente, Porshe, …) was under a single platform, called Mobi.e. You could use any charge card on any charger.
This is no longer true (well, it will be somewhat true until the end of the transition period). Mobi.e shall be terminated on 31st Dec 2026. Until then operators are free to leave at any point. They are expected to leave.
Access is universal.
To comply with the AFIR regulations, everybody should be able to charge anywhere. Tesla already opened multiple chargers to all EVs, including ad-hoc payment terminals. More to come.
New database.
Under the new regulations, all the charger information, (ad-hoc) pricing information and etc, will be available under
https://nap-portugal.imt-ip.pt/nap/home
It’s still not built yet, let’s hope it doesn’t take too long.
Charge cards will need an overhaul.
Probably some will disappear, some will appear. And the networks they will be compatible to will need to be considered, since now there’s more than one.
The new regulation is under

Unfortunately no English translation.
If you are interested, we can keep this a long-lived thread where I will add whatever more I remember is important for the transition.
